XRPI ($8.42) Futures vs XRPR ($12.28) Spot as XRP Tests $1.50 — Break of $1.70 Lifts XRPR NAV to $13.12
XRPR holds $53.4 million with 60.85% in direct XRP, trading at a 1.71% premium and a 0.75% fee | That's TradingNEWS
Key Points
- XRPI closed at $8.42, up 3.00%, while XRPR's NAV rose 7.67% to $12.07 on September 21.
- U.S. spot XRP ETFs hold $1.62 billion in net assets and close to 1 billion XRP tokens.
- XRPR carries a 0.75% fee against 0.19% for XRPZ, and traded at a 1.71% premium to NAV.
The XRP ETF market gives investors two very different ways to own the same token, and this week shows why the structure matters. The Volatility Shares XRP ETF (XRPI) closed Tuesday at $8.42, up 3.00%, while the REX-Osprey XRP ETF (XRPR) closed Monday at $12.28 against a net asset value of $12.07, a 1.71% premium, after its NAV jumped $0.86, or 7.67%, in a single session. Both funds rose with XRP, which gained 24.13% over the past week and traded at $1.6161 on Tuesday before slipping to $1.56 early Wednesday.
The two funds are built differently. XRPI is an actively managed fund that gains XRP price exposure through near-term futures and XRP-linked instruments, and does not invest directly in XRP. XRPR is an XRP fund with four holdings, with 60.85% of its $53.4 million in assets, or $31.95 million, held directly in XRP as of September 21. One is a futures product; the other holds the token itself for the majority of its portfolio.
The broader spot ETF complex is growing steadily. Seven U.S. XRP ETFs hold close to 1 billion XRP, with net assets at $1.62 billion as of September 21. Spot XRP ETFs added $20.02 million on September 22, after recording no net flows on September 21. August was the best month of 2026, with more than $150 million of inflows.
The macro backdrop turned hostile on Wednesday. The U.S. composite PMI jumped to 58.4, the 10-year Treasury yield hit 5.058%, its highest since July 2007, and October Fed hike odds climbed above 53%. Bitcoin fell 2.30% to $84,255.74. XRP, as a high-beta asset, felt the same pressure.
The structural challenge for XRP remains supply. Ripple releases 1 billion XRP from escrow each month and re-escrows 600 million to 800 million, so 200 million to 400 million XRP enters circulation monthly, two to four times faster than the entire ETF complex absorbs. At $1.56, that is $312 million to $624 million of potential new supply every month.
The thesis for this forecast is direct. Both funds are leveraged to XRP's next move, and XRP is testing $1.50 after a 24% weekly run. If XRP holds $1.50 and pushes toward $1.70, XRPI's implied value reaches $8.86 and XRPR's implied NAV reaches $13.12. If the rate shock drags XRP to the $1.35 to $1.38 support zone, XRPI's implied value falls toward $7.19 and XRPR's toward $10.65. Structure decides which fund tracks that move more cleanly.
XRPI: The Futures-Based Fund at $8.42
XRPI was one of the first XRP-linked funds in the U.S. market. The fund launched on May 22, 2025, before the first spot XRP ETFs were approved in November 2025. It gives investors price participation in XRP through near-term futures contracts rather than holding the token directly.
The futures structure has a clear advantage and a clear cost. The advantage is regulatory simplicity: futures on regulated exchanges were available before spot products were approved, which let XRPI come to market first. The cost is tracking. As the only futures-based fund among the seven U.S. XRP ETFs, XRPI can diverge from XRP's spot price because of contango and backwardation.
Contango is the key risk. When futures prices trade above spot, which is common in crypto markets during bullish periods, a futures fund must sell expiring contracts at a lower price and buy the next contract at a higher price. That roll cost erodes returns over time, even if XRP's spot price stays flat. During strong rallies, when futures premiums widen, the drag can be significant.
The recent tracking has been close. XRPI rose 3.00% to $8.42 on Tuesday, in line with XRP's 3.34% 24-hour gain and with spot peers Canary's XRPC, up 2.88% to $16.45, and Franklin's XRPZ, up 2.94% to $16.85. Over a single day, the gap between futures and spot is small. Over months, it compounds.
The implied ratio frames the forecast. At $8.42 with XRP near $1.6161, XRPI carries a price-to-XRP ratio of 5.21. At XRP's Wednesday level of $1.56, that ratio implies XRPI near $8.13, a 3.4% decline. At $1.70, XRPI would sit near $8.86. At $2.00, near $10.42. The ratio will drift over time as roll costs accumulate.
The trailing performance shows the leverage to XRP's rally. XRPI posted trailing returns of 27.97% and 57.03% in its recent performance windows as of August 21, compared with 19.21% and 8.45% for the digital-asset category. XRP's summer surge, which took the token from $1.00 to $1.70 in under 72 hours in late August, drove those returns.
For the forecast, XRPI suits traders who want short-term XRP exposure through a familiar futures structure. For long-term holders, the roll cost makes spot products more efficient. XRPI's sensitivity to futures curve shape adds a layer of risk that spot funds do not carry.
XRPR: $53.4 Million in Assets, 60.85% Direct XRP and a 0.75% Fee
XRPR takes a different approach. The fund launched on September 18, 2025, trades on Cboe BZX, and held $53.418 million in assets across 4.35 million shares as of September 21. It holds four positions, with XRP accounting for 60.85%, or $31.95 million.
The fund's recent move was sharp. On September 21, XRPR's NAV rose $0.86, or 7.67%, to $12.07, while its closing price reached $12.28. That day XRP rallied sharply, and leveraged XRP funds moved far more: Teucrium's 2x Long Daily XRP ETF gained 15.35% to $38.26, the 2x XRP ETF (XRPT) rose 16.30% to $40.96, and ProShares Ultra XRP climbed 16.27% to $18.65. XRPR's 7.67% NAV gain tracked the unleveraged move closely.
The premium matters for buyers. XRPR closed Monday at a 1.71% premium to NAV, with a 30-day median bid-ask spread of 0.70%. Investors buying at $12.28 paid $0.21 per share above the value of the fund's holdings. A premium of that size typically shrinks as authorized participants create shares, which means buyers at a premium face a small built-in drag.
The fund alternates between premiums and discounts. In 2025, XRPR traded at a premium on 33 days and a discount on 40. In 2026, the split was 24 premium and 37 discount days in the first quarter, 35 and 27 in the second, and 29 and 28 so far in the third. That balance shows the fund's market price oscillates around NAV rather than trending persistently in one direction.
The fee is high. XRPR's total expense ratio is 0.75%, compared with 0.19% for Franklin's XRPZ, 0.30% for 21Shares' TOXR, 0.34% for Bitwise's XRP and 0.35% for Canary's XRPC and Grayscale's GXRP. On a $10,000 position, XRPR costs $75 a year against $19 for XRPZ. Over five years, that $56 annual gap compounds.
The historical returns reflect XRP's collapse. As of June 30, 2026, XRPR's market-price return was -20.52% over one month, -22.21% over three months and -42.72% year to date, with a since-inception loss of 65.68% on market price and 65.81% on NAV. The fund launched in September 2025, close to XRP's cycle peak, and absorbed the full drawdown that followed.
The implied NAV math frames the forecast. With XRP near $1.564 at Monday's close and XRPR's NAV at $12.07, the fund carries an implied NAV-to-XRP ratio of 7.72. At $1.56, that implies an NAV near $12.04. At $1.70, near $13.12. At $2.00, near $15.44. At $1.38, near $10.65.
For the forecast, XRPR offers direct XRP exposure with a higher fee and premium risk. Investors should compare its market price with its published NAV before buying.
The Spot ETF Complex: Seven Funds, $1.62 Billion and Close to 1 Billion XRP
XRPI and XRPR sit within a broader and growing XRP ETF market. Seven U.S. XRP ETFs trade today. Six hold spot XRP: Bitwise (XRP), Franklin Templeton (XRPZ), Canary Capital (XRPC), 21Shares (TOXR), Grayscale (GXRP) and REX-Osprey (XRPR). Volatility Shares' XRPI is the one futures-based fund.
The market launched late. The SEC approved the first spot XRP ETFs in November 2025, after the resolution of the Ripple v. SEC litigation. Canary's XRPC launched on Nasdaq on November 13, 2025 with nearly $250 million in first-day inflows, the highest first-day trading volume of any ETF launched in 2025. Bitwise's fund followed a week later.
Assets have grown steadily. By May 2026, the funds held more than $1.2 billion in assets and had locked up more than 840 million XRP. As of September 21, net assets stood at $1.62 billion, with holdings close to 1 billion XRP.
Tuesday's prices show the spread across products. Canary's XRPC closed at $16.45, Franklin's XRPZ at $16.85 and Grayscale's GXRP at $30.40, up 4.14%. XRPI closed at $8.42. Different share prices reflect different launch prices and share structures, not differences in value; each tracks XRP.
The fee war favors spot funds. Franklin's XRPZ carries the lowest fee at 0.19%, followed by 21Shares at 0.30%, Bitwise at 0.34%, and Canary and Grayscale at 0.35%, with Grayscale's launch fee waiver expiring February 24, 2026. In the gold ETF market, investors redeemed $603 million from GLD in one week to rotate into cheaper funds. The same fee-driven rotation is likely to shape XRP ETF flows over time, pressuring higher-cost products like XRPR.
The leader is Bitwise. In August, Bitwise's fund took about $92 million, 61% of the $150 million the XRP ETFs recorded that month. Scale and a low fee have made Bitwise the default choice for new money.
XRPR and XRPI are niche players. XRPR's $53.4 million in assets is 3.3% of the $1.62 billion complex. XRPI's futures structure serves a narrower audience. Both funds depend on differentiation, whether through structure, access or marketing, to compete with larger, cheaper spot funds.
For the forecast, the complex's growth supports XRP demand, but most new money flows to the lowest-cost, largest funds. XRPI and XRPR track XRP's price but are unlikely to capture the bulk of new inflows.
ETF Flows: $20.02 Million on Tuesday, but a Sharp Slowdown From August
Flow data tells the story of institutional appetite. Spot XRP ETFs recorded $20.02 million in net inflows on September 22, after recording no net flows on September 21 with net assets at $1.62 billion. Tuesday's inflow came on a day XRP rose 3.34%, but the size was modest.
August was the high point. XRP ETFs pulled in more than $150 million in August, their best 2026 performance, surpassing the previous high of $131.94 million in May, $81.59 million in April and $58.09 million in February. Most of it arrived late: $31.78 million in the week ending August 21 and $110.49 million in the week ending August 28, the largest weekly total since early December.
September has been slower. XRP ETFs took in $19 million in the week to September 5, down 83% from $110.5 million the week before. The slowdown came as capital rotated toward Bitcoin, which recorded a $731 million single-day ETF inflow on September 3.
The comparison with Bitcoin and Ether is stark. On September 21, Bitcoin ETFs took in $999 million and Ether ETFs $270 million, while XRP ETFs recorded nothing. On September 22, Bitcoin ETFs took $714.7 million, Ether ETFs $162.2 million and XRP ETFs $20.02 million. XRP captured 2.2% of the three-asset total on Tuesday.
The investor base explains the volatility. Retail drives 84% of XRP ETF inflows, while institutional capital sits out pending legislative clarity. Retail flows are more sensitive to price momentum and headlines. The August surge coincided with XRP's 71.9% four-day rally; the September slowdown coincided with consolidation.
The supply math is the core problem. At the current September pace of $20 million to $40 million a week, annualized ETF demand would run $1 billion to $2 billion. Escrow releases of 200 million to 400 million XRP a month, worth $312 million to $624 million at $1.56, total $3.7 billion to $7.5 billion a year. ETF demand at current rates absorbs 14% to 55% of new supply.
The positive is the direction. Flows have been net positive for the complex over time, and holdings have grown from 840 million XRP in May to close to 1 billion. The ETFs are a steady buyer, just not a dominant one.
For the forecast, flows need to return to $100 million-plus weeks to shift XRP's supply balance. Until then, ETF demand supports XRP but does not overwhelm escrow supply.
XRP Price Action: From $1.6161 to $1.56 and the Post-PMI Slide
Both funds follow XRP's price, and XRP's recent path is volatile. The token traded at $1.6161 on Tuesday, up 3.34% over 24 hours and 24.13% over the week, with $7.48 billion in 24-hour volume and a market value of $101.55 billion. By 9:16 a.m. ET on Wednesday, XRP stood at $1.56, with volume down to $4.82 billion.
The late-August surge set the range. XRP climbed from $0.9888 on August 18 to $1.70 on August 22, a 71.9% gain in four days, before falling more than 20% to $1.37. The $1.35 to $1.38 support zone was tested after Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's hawkish Jackson Hole speech. That August high at $1.70 and the post-spike low near $1.37 define the current range.
The broader drawdown is severe. At $1.56, XRP trades 57% below its $3.65 cycle high from July 17, 2025, and 41.23% below its level a year ago. XRPR, launched near that peak in September 2025, shows the full cost of that decline in its 65.68% since-inception loss.
The summer base was low. XRP spent most of the summer grinding between $0.90 and $1.10. From that range to $1.56, the token has gained 42% to 73%. The recovery has been powerful, even if the long-term chart remains weak.
Wednesday's macro data added pressure. The PMI hit at 9:45 a.m. ET, the 10-year yield jumped 9.4 basis points to 5.042% within minutes, and the dollar index rose 0.4% to its strongest level since late July. Bitcoin fell to $84,255.74, and XRP's high beta meant a larger percentage decline.
The implied fund values follow. At XRP's $1.56, XRPI's implied value is near $8.13, down from $8.42, and XRPR's implied NAV near $12.04, roughly flat to its Monday NAV of $12.07. XRPR's Monday NAV already reflected a lower XRP price than Tuesday's peak, so its implied move is smaller.
The key levels map directly. $1.50 is XRP's first support, corresponding to XRPI near $7.82 and XRPR near $11.58. $1.44 is the next level, mapping to XRPI near $7.50 and XRPR near $11.12. The $1.35 to $1.38 zone maps to XRPI at $7.03 to $7.19 and XRPR at $10.42 to $10.65.
For the forecast, both funds are pure functions of XRP's direction plus structural drag. Traders should watch XRP's $1.50 line first; the fund prices follow.
The Rate Shock: A 58.4 PMI and What It Means for XRP ETF Demand
Wednesday's U.S. data is the main short-term threat to XRP and its ETFs. The composite PMI rose to 58.4 from 56.0, with services at 58.7 and manufacturing at 57.0, both five-year highs. Input costs rose at the fastest pace since October 2022. The survey points to annualized growth near 5%.
The Fed is already tightening. On September 16, the Fed raised its target range to 3.75% to 4.00%, its first increase since July 2023, and 16 of 18 policymakers projected another hike this year. After Wednesday's data, the 10-year yield reached 5.058%, the 2-year rose to 4.874%, and October hike odds climbed above 53%.
Rates affect XRP ETF demand in three ways. First, XRP pays no yield, so higher Treasury yields raise the opportunity cost of holding it. At a 5.058% 10-year yield, a $10,000 XRP ETF position forgoes $506 a year in Treasury income. Second, higher rates reduce retail risk appetite, and retail drives 84% of XRP ETF inflows. Third, a stronger dollar tightens global liquidity, which weighs on speculative assets.
Futures funds face an extra rate channel. XRPI's futures positions are collateralized with cash, which earns interest. Higher short-term rates increase that interest income, partly offsetting roll costs. At the same time, higher rates can widen futures premiums in contango, increasing roll costs. The net effect depends on the shape of the XRP futures curve.
The dollar adds pressure. The dollar index hit a seven-week high near 100.86 before the U.S. data and extended afterward. EUR/USD fell to 1.1401 and GBP/USD to 1.3272. XRP, as a global payments token with heavy non-U.S. trading, is sensitive to dollar strength.
The Monday rally showed the reverse. On Monday, Brent fell below $100 on Iran de-escalation signals, the 10-year eased to 4.96%, and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq gained 1.5% and 2.1%. That session produced XRPR's 7.67% NAV gain and 15% to 16% gains in leveraged XRP funds. Falling yields drive XRP ETF performance.
For the forecast, the 10-year yield is the external driver. A close back below 5% would support XRP's push toward $1.70 and lift both funds. A sustained hold above 5.05% keeps XRP pinned below $1.60 and pressures the funds toward their lower implied levels.
Ripple's Fundamentals: Trust Bank, $50 Billion Valuation and RLUSD
The case for holding XRP through an ETF rests on Ripple's growing business. Ripple secured conditional approval for a national trust bank, raised capital at a $50 billion valuation and spent roughly $4 billion on acquisitions including Hidden Road, GTreasury, Rail, Standard Custody and Palisade. RLUSD, Ripple's stablecoin, crossed $1.6 billion.
The trust bank is the most important step. A federally chartered trust bank can hold client assets in custody and offer fiduciary services under national banking regulation. For institutions that have avoided crypto, a regulated bank charter lowers the barrier to entry. If Ripple's bank integrates XRP into custody and settlement, it could create structural demand for the token.
The acquisitions build a financial stack. Hidden Road provides prime brokerage, GTreasury corporate treasury software, Rail payment infrastructure, and Standard Custody and Palisade digital-asset custody. Together, they position Ripple as a regulated, vertically integrated financial institution.
Network activity is rising. XRP Ledger active addresses grew 35% in August, giving fund managers a non-price argument for institutional allocations. XRP Ledger is also competing with Solana and Cardano to enable AI agent payments, an emerging use case tied to consumer AI agents like Meta's Muse.
The SEC case is over. The resolution of the Ripple v. SEC litigation cleared the way for spot ETFs. That removed the largest legal overhang on XRP and opened the door for XRPR and the other spot funds.
The disconnect remains. Ripple's success does not automatically lift XRP's price, because Ripple is both XRP's largest holder and its largest seller through escrow. A company valued at $50 billion can thrive while XRP trades 57% below its cycle high.
For ETF investors, Ripple's fundamentals are the long-term case. The trust bank, custody businesses and payment infrastructure are the most likely channels for new institutional XRP demand. Their impact will take quarters, and ETF holders are positioned to benefit if it arrives.
For the forecast, fundamentals support the medium-term case for XRP ETFs. They do not overcome the near-term supply and rate headwinds.
Regulation: SEC Case Resolved, CLARITY Act Stalled
Regulation shapes XRP ETF demand more than any other asset's. The SEC case ended, allowing seven U.S. XRP ETFs to launch. That was the single biggest catalyst in XRP's regulatory history.
The legislative front has stalled. The CLARITY Act, the crypto market-structure bill, stalled in the Senate on September 15, and Bitcoin fell to $74,888 that day. A Senate cloture vote had been viewed as a potential catalyst to unlock institutional capital that currently sits out while retail drives 84% of inflows.
XRP's specific stake was large. The bill advanced through committee with all 13 Republicans voting yes on a bipartisan 15-9 amendment, leaving XRP one Senate floor vote from being codified as a digital commodity. Commodity classification would place XRP under a clearer framework and reduce the risk of future securities challenges. The stall leaves that classification unsettled.
Regulators are filling the gap. After the CLARITY Act stalled, state and federal regulators moved to fill the void on crypto oversight. Rule-making by agencies rather than Congress adds uncertainty, because rules can change with leadership.
ETF structure affects regulatory exposure. XRPR, as an XRP fund with a structure that holds 60.85% direct XRP and three other holdings, and XRPI, as a futures fund, operate under different regulatory frameworks. Futures-based funds rely on regulated futures markets, which have operated for longer. Spot funds depend on custody and valuation rules that are still evolving.
The institutional unlock is the upside. If the CLARITY Act passes after the midterm elections, advisers, pensions and endowments that require clear legal classification could begin allocating. That would shift XRP ETF flows from retail-dominated to institution-dominated, potentially raising weekly inflows well above the $100 million mark.
For the forecast, regulation is a pending catalyst. It will not drive XRPI or XRPR prices this week, but legislative progress in the fourth quarter would be the largest positive event for XRP ETF demand.

Leveraged XRP Funds: 15% to 16% Days and the Beta Spectrum
The XRP ETF market extends beyond XRPI and XRPR into leveraged products. On September 21, Teucrium's 2x Long Daily XRP ETF gained 15.35% to $38.26, the 2x XRP ETF (XRPT) rose 16.30% to $40.96 and ProShares Ultra XRP (UXRP) climbed 16.27% to $18.65. Those moves compare with XRPR's 7.67% NAV gain the same day.
The leverage spectrum gives investors choices. XRPR and the spot funds offer 1x exposure through direct XRP holdings. XRPI offers 1x exposure through futures. XXRP, XRPT and UXRP offer 2x daily exposure. Each carries different costs, tracking characteristics and risks.
Leveraged funds suffer decay. Daily-reset 2x funds deliver twice the daily return, but over longer periods, volatility erodes their value. In a market that swings 3% to 8% a day, like XRP this month, leveraged funds can lose significant value even if XRP ends flat over several weeks.
The comparison highlights XRPI's role. XRPI is not leveraged; it provides 1x exposure through futures. Its main risk is roll cost, not volatility decay. For traders who want XRP exposure with lower cost than 2x funds and without the premium swings of smaller spot funds, XRPI occupies a middle ground.
XRPR's premium behavior matters in fast markets. On Monday, XRPR closed at a 1.71% premium as demand spiked during the rally. In fast-rising markets, small spot funds can trade at premiums because authorized participants cannot create shares fast enough. In fast-falling markets, the same funds can trade at discounts. XRPR's 2026 record of 88 premium days and 92 discount days through the third quarter to date shows that dynamic.
The volume picture differs. XRPR traded 30,809 shares in a recent session. Larger spot funds and leveraged funds trade far more. Lower volume means wider spreads and a greater chance of trading away from NAV.
For the forecast, the leverage spectrum lets traders match risk to conviction. XRPI and XRPR suit 1x exposure. The 2x funds suit short-term tactical bets. None suit investors who cannot tolerate daily moves of 3% to 16%.
Cross-Asset Map: Bitcoin, Ether and Solana ETFs
XRP ETFs trade within a broader crypto ETF landscape. Bitcoin ETFs absorbed $2.306 billion in four sessions through September 22. Ether ETFs took $575.9 million in three sessions. Solana ETFs recorded twelve straight weeks of inflows totaling $1.4 billion, with $1.62 billion in assets. XRP ETFs hold $1.62 billion in net assets with $20.02 million of inflows on Tuesday.
The ranking is clear. Institutional capital flows to Bitcoin first, Ether second, and Solana and XRP a distant third and fourth. On September 21, Bitcoin ETFs took $999 million, Ether ETFs $270 million, Solana ETFs $26.10 million and XRP ETFs nothing.
XRP has outperformed on price despite lower flows. Earlier in September, XRP had risen 39% over a month against Bitcoin's 23%, even as XRP ETF inflows slowed. Over the 30 days to September 21, however, Solana led the top five with a 26.37% gain, while XRP gained 3.60%. XRP's strongest recent move came in the past week, with a 24.13% gain.
The rotation dynamics matter. Bitcoin Cash surged 28.99% over 24 hours as capital chased laggards. Late-stage rallies often rotate from leaders to smaller coins. XRP's 24% weekly jump reflects part of that rotation into assets that had lagged.
The macro link is shared. Bitcoin fell 2.30%, Ether traded at $2,711.52 and gold fell 1.33% on Wednesday's rate shock. All non-yielding assets reprice together when real yields rise. XRP ETFs are not insulated from that.
The equity link is strong. On Monday, the Nasdaq rose 2.1% and XRPR's NAV gained 7.67%. On Wednesday, the Nasdaq fell 1.06% and XRP slid to $1.56. XRP ETFs trade as risk assets tied to tech sentiment.
For the forecast, XRP ETF performance depends on the broader crypto tape. A Bitcoin hold above $81,722 and continued ETF inflows across the complex would support XRPI and XRPR. A Bitcoin break would drag them lower.
Technical Map: XRP $1.50 Pivot, $1.70 High and the Fund Equivalents
Both funds' technical levels map directly from XRP's chart. XRP's key resistance levels are $1.59 to $1.6161, $1.70 and $2.00. Key support sits at $1.50, $1.44 and the $1.35 to $1.38 zone.
For XRPI, the conversion ratio of roughly 5.21 translates XRP levels into fund prices. XRP at $1.6161 corresponds to XRPI's $8.42 close. XRP at $1.70 maps to XRPI near $8.86, and $2.00 to near $10.42. On the downside, $1.50 maps to XRPI near $7.82, $1.44 to near $7.50, and $1.38 to near $7.19. Roll costs will pull these levels slightly lower over time.
For XRPR, the NAV-to-XRP ratio of roughly 7.72 translates the same levels. XRP at $1.564 corresponds to XRPR's $12.07 NAV. XRP at $1.70 maps to an NAV near $13.12, and $2.00 to near $15.44. On the downside, $1.50 maps to near $11.58, $1.44 to near $11.12, and $1.38 to near $10.65. XRPR's market price can trade 1% to 2% above or below these NAV levels.
The premium adds a layer for XRPR. At Monday's 1.71% premium, a buyer paying $12.28 needs XRP to rise roughly 1.7% just to break even against NAV. If the premium collapses to zero or flips to a discount, market-price returns lag NAV returns.
The August high defines resistance. XRP's $1.70 high from August 22 is the key upside target. A daily close above $1.70 would mark a new post-summer high and open $2.00.
The Jackson Hole low defines support. The $1.35 to $1.38 zone tested after Warsh's August speech is the major floor. A break below it would signal the August-September recovery has failed.
The trading ranges for the rest of the week: XRPI between $7.50 and $8.86, XRPR NAV between $11.12 and $13.12. A close outside those ranges sets the direction for October.
XRP ETF Forecast: XRPI $8.86 and XRPR $13.12 Targets, $1.50 Line, Verdict
The forecast breaks into three scenarios, each keyed to XRP's hold of $1.50, the 10-year yield and ETF flow direction.
The bull case targets XRP at $1.70 and then $2.00, taking XRPI to $8.86 and $10.42 and XRPR's NAV to $13.12 and $15.44. It requires the 10-year yield to close back below 5%, spot XRP ETF inflows to return to $100 million-plus weeks as in late August, and Bitcoin to hold above $85,000 through Friday's $18 billion options expiry. This path carries a 30% probability.
The base case is consolidation for XRP between $1.44 and $1.70 into the October FOMC. XRPI ranges between $7.50 and $8.86, and XRPR's NAV between $11.12 and $13.12. ETF flows run at $20 million to $50 million a week, and escrow supply caps rallies. XRPR's premium oscillates between 1% above and below NAV. This path carries a 45% probability.
The bear case targets XRP at $1.38 and $1.35, taking XRPI to $7.03 to $7.19 and XRPR's NAV to $10.42 to $10.65. It requires the 10-year to push toward 5.15%, October hike odds to climb above 70%, XRP ETF flows to turn negative and Bitcoin to break below $82,000. Monthly escrow releases of 200 million to 400 million XRP would add supply pressure. This path carries a 25% probability.
Levels for XRPI: resistance at $8.42, $8.86 and $10.42; support at $8.13, $7.82, $7.50 and $7.19. Levels for XRPR NAV: resistance at $12.28, $13.12 and $15.44; support at $12.04, $11.58, $11.12 and $10.65.
The verdict on the XRP ETFs for September 23 is neutral with a bullish medium-term bias. XRPI closed at $8.42, up 3.00%, and XRPR's NAV rose 7.67% to $12.07 as XRP rallied 24.13% over the week to $1.6161, before a 58.4 U.S. PMI and a 5.058% ten-year pulled XRP back to $1.56. The spot complex holds $1.62 billion and close to 1 billion XRP, added $20.02 million on September 22 and posted its best month in August with more than $150 million, while Ripple's trust bank approval, $50 billion valuation and $1.6 billion RLUSD strengthen the long-term case. Against that, escrow releases add 200 million to 400 million XRP a month, ETF demand is 84% retail, the CLARITY Act has stalled and XRP trades 57% below its $3.65 cycle high. XRPI carries futures roll risk and XRPR carries a 0.75% fee and a 1.71% premium. Accumulate on dips toward XRP's $1.44 to $1.50 zone, which maps to XRPI near $7.50 to $7.82 and XRPR near $11.12 to $11.58, target XRP at $1.70, and treat a close below $1.38 as the exit signal.
